Where we move

Moving Service Areas: Movers in Nairobi and Across Kenya

Our moving service areas start in Nairobi and reach every county in Kenya. We move homes and offices within the city every day, serve nearby towns such as Kiambu, Ruiru, Thika, Kitengela and Machakos, and run long-distance moves to Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret and beyond.

  • Nairobi base with daily city moves
  • Nearby towns served like the city
  • Long-distance routes to every county

Coverage

How our moving service areas work

We think of our moving service areas in three rings. Each ring has its own way of pricing and planning.

  • Nairobi city. Daily moves across all estates, priced by home size, crew and access.
  • Nearby towns. Kiambu, Ruiru, Thika, Kitengela, Rongai, Syokimau and Machakos, served almost like the city.
  • Long-distance routes. Mombasa, Nakuru, Naivasha, Nyeri, Meru, Eldoret, Kisumu and every other county, priced per route.

Moves can also start outside Nairobi. For example, a family moving from Kisumu to Nakuru gets the same service as one leaving Nairobi.

Service Areas

Nairobi

Nairobi is home base. We move apartments in Kilimani, Kileleshwa and Westlands, family houses in Karen, Runda and Lavington, and homes in South B, South C, Embakasi, Kasarani, Roysambu, Ruaka and Rongai. Each estate has its own access rules, parking limits and traffic patterns, and our crews know them well. See our Nairobi movers page for estate-by-estate tips.

Coverage

Nearby towns in our moving service areas

The towns around Nairobi are growing fast, and many families move between the city and these towns. Because they are close, we serve them almost like a city move.

  • Kiambu: Ruaka, Kiambu town, Banana and Limuru.
  • Ruiru: Kamakis, Membley, Tatu City and the Eastern Bypass.
  • Thika: Thika town, Makongeni, Juja and Section 9.
  • Kitengela: Kitengela, Athi River, Syokimau and Mlolongo.
  • Machakos: Machakos town, Mlolongo, Katani and Joska.

The Coast: Mombasa

Mombasa is our longest regular route. We move families, staff transfers and businesses between Nairobi and Nyali, Bamburi, Mtwapa, Tudor, Kizingo and Likoni. Heat and humidity mean we wrap furniture carefully and avoid long stops in the sun. The trip usually takes one long day, and we often deliver the next morning. Read more on our Mombasa movers page.

The Rift Valley: Nakuru, Naivasha and Eldoret

The Rift Valley routes are busy all year. Nakuru and Naivasha are close enough for a same-day move from Nairobi. Eldoret is further, so trucks leave early and arrive by evening. The escarpment roads are steep, therefore our drivers check straps and brakes before the descent.

Service Areas

Western Kenya: Kisumu

Kisumu is a long route, so we plan it carefully. Most moves leave Nairobi early and reach the lakeside city in the evening. In addition, we serve nearby towns such as Kakamega, Kericho and Bungoma on request. Shared loads on this route can save a lot, especially for smaller homes and single rooms going west.

Service Areas

Mount Kenya region: Nyeri and Meru

Nyeri and Meru lie on scenic but winding roads. Cool, wet weather is common, so covered trucks and good wrapping matter. We also serve Nanyuki, Karatina, Embu, Chuka and Isiolo on the same routes, often with shared loads.

Every move, local or long-distance, starts with the same careful loading.

Coverage

Towns not listed here

Our moving service areas cover every county, even if a town has no page of its own. For example, we have moved clients to Kakamega, Kericho, Kitale, Nanyuki, Embu, Malindi, Kilifi, Voi, Narok and Garissa. Simply tell us the town, and we will plan the route and send a written price.

Transport

Long-distance moves between towns

For long trips, the plan matters even more. Here is how we run them.

  1. Survey. First, we see your items in person or by video call.
  2. Route plan. Next, we choose the route, the departure time and the rest stops.
  3. Loading. Then the crew packs, wraps and loads the truck, with an inventory you sign.
  4. Travel. The driver and crew travel with the load and check the straps at every stop.
  5. Delivery. Finally, we unload, place each item and rebuild furniture at the new home.

Our long-distance movers page explains shared loads, timing and costs in more detail.

Road conditions and timing across Kenya

Kenya's main highways are generally good, but roadworks, weighbridges and traffic can slow trucks down. Therefore we leave early, avoid night driving on difficult stretches and allow time for checks. For road updates, the Kenya National Highways Authority publishes notices on major works. We also watch the weather, because heavy rain can affect murram roads near some homes.

Office moves across our moving service areas

Businesses move between towns too. For example, a company may relocate its head office from Nairobi to Tatu City, open a branch in Kisumu or transfer staff to Mombasa. In each case, our corporate relocation team plans the office move and the staff household moves together. As a result, one coordinator handles every piece.

How we price moves across our service areas

City moves are priced by home size and crew. Long-distance moves are priced by route, because fuel and travel time make up most of the cost. However, every quote is still based on your actual items and access.

Why one mover for every town

Some people hire a mover in Nairobi and a different one at the other end. That often causes confusion over timing, payment and responsibility. In contrast, one company that covers all our moving service areas means one plan, one crew and one price. If something goes wrong, you know exactly who to call. It also means the people who packed your things are the same people who unpack them.

Moving service areas for small moves

Not every move needs a full crew. Across our moving service areas, we also offer lorry hire and pickups for small loads. For instance, a student moving a bedsitter from Nairobi to Nakuru can share a truck with other clients and pay only for the space used.

What our crews carry on every route

Whether the move is two kilometres or five hundred, the truck carries the same kit. That includes moving blankets, stretch wrap, ratchet straps, dollies, tool kits, spare boxes, tape and tarpaulins. On long routes, the crew also carries water, a first-aid kit and a spare tyre. As a result, small problems on the road do not turn into big delays. Moreover, the team leader keeps the signed inventory and calls you at agreed points during the trip, so you always know where your things are.

Storage between our moving service areas

Sometimes the new home is not ready when the old one must be empty. This is common when a lease ends before a new house is finished, or when a job transfer happens quickly. In that case, we can collect your items, keep them in our secure storage in Nairobi and deliver them later to any town. Your things stay wrapped and listed, and you collect nothing yourself. Then, when the keys are ready, we deliver and set up on the day you choose.

Moving to a town you do not know

Moving to a new town can feel uncertain. You may not know which estates are close to schools, where the water is reliable or how far the market is. While we are movers rather than agents, our crews visit these towns often. So we can share practical tips about access, traffic and the best times to arrive. In addition, we can store your things for a few days if your new home is not ready.

Get a quote for your route

Wherever you are moving within our moving service areas, start with a quick message. Even if your town is not listed, the answer is almost always yes. Tell us both towns, the date and the size of your home. Our move coordinator will reply with a plan and a written price. Request your moving quote to get started.

A note on moving prices

We do not publish fixed prices, because every move is different. Instead, we assess each move, send a written quote and agree the final price with you, so the figure you agree reflects your real move. If you are working to a budget, tell us early. Then we can suggest options, such as packing some boxes yourself, moving mid-month or sharing a truck on long routes.
